Create your own “Like God” book and share it on Instagram @likegodbook #likegodbook

There is so much of the natural world that our book does not include. Snow? Rivers? Muddy swamps? Can you draw pictures of the world around you and figure out what attributes of God are reflected there? Can you find Scripture to support the attributes? Then share it with us on instagram at @likegodbook / #likegodbook

Mold a Mud Man

Genesis teaches us that God formed us from the ground. Some speculate that the ground was infertile and incapable of bringing life. Can you imagine? What must God be like, to take infertile mud and create humans!? Breathing, eating, laughing, loving humans? Can you make a mud person? Are you as good as God at it? Let your mud (wo)man dry, and take a picture of it. Then share it with us on instagram @likegodbook #likegodbook

Nature Walk Song.jpg

Write a Worship Song

I made up a simple song called, “Nature” when Moriah was still stroller age. Now, all of my kids know it and enjoy it when we go on walks. You can hear it on our Instagram page @likegodbook. We asked our piano teacher to help us put the song into sheet music. The song reminds us that all of nature is God’s, and God is happy when we enjoy it. Can you make up a song about God’s creation and how great God is? Can you record yourself singing it and share it with us? @likegodbook #likegodbook

Plant a seed…growing more like God

James 1: 18 tells us that God chooses to grow us up in them, through their Word. They even call Christians “firstfruits” of their creatures. Is it silly to think of yourself as a fruit, hanging from a vine? If you could be any fruit or vegetable what would you be? Buy a packet of those seeds and plant them. As you do, talk about how the Bible grows us up to become more like God (tie in John 15:5 if you want to go deeper). The Bible is kind of like a seed, isn’t it? We hear it (Rom 10:17), it is planted in our hearts, and it grows faith in us. As you watch your veggie grow, thank God for growing and strengthening you to be more like him, as you read his Word. There are lots of other Jesus stories about planting and growing. Can you find some others? Share your discoveries with us! @likegodbook #likegodbook
